Health literacy promotion

Library and Knowledge Service: South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

Short summary of the initiative/project

We are just starting to promote Health Literacy within the trust. We have promoted via Facebook and Twitter that it is Health Literacy month this month. I am attending Health Literacy training tomorrow and then train the trainer in November. I am then hoping to deliver training to the trust in small teams. 

How did you get started? Any tips to share?

I just researched the subject and used Health Education England (HEE) information too. I am also interested in dyslexia training and neuro diversity training too. In my former role (school librarian) I was heavily involved in Lexonik literacy programmes at the school.

What next?

Hopefully I will be able to deliver the Train the Trainer session to colleagues.
